What is a banana van?
Rewind a few years back to
Storage Wars: New York, a reality series by A&E Netowrk. The second spin-off of the original franchise.
Reality television stars Candy Olsen and Courtney Wagner, co-owners of C&C Pop-Up Shop, teamed to buy auctioned storage units. Wait, correction; in New York they call the units - rooms. I have no clue as to why.
If you visited the Big Apple, then you understand the lack of parking space. Difficult for a storage auction buyer to travel around in a big box truck.
Candy and Courtney bought/rented (unsure which, and I didn`t ask) a van. A very bright
YELLOW van.
1. The Banana Van
Don`t know if the gals bought/rented the vehicle new or not, but this was the photo I found. Hey, they live in New York. Any vehicle in the city bound to get a few scrapes and uh, more scrapes. Not sure if the gals renewed their driver licenses, hmm.
2. Candy and Courtney with Mascot
Do you remember in that one
Storage Wars: New York episode (I`m not an encyclopedia of information, so I cannot pinpoint which episode) when they found the stuffed monkey in a storage auction unit... I meant to type storage auction `room` (not really, but I`m just appeasing all the New Yorkers out there reading this blog). I think they nicknamed the monkey Mikey. Not sure.
3. New York Vandalism
If you park the banana van a bit too long in one location, vandalism happened. Though, instead of graffiti, it appeared as though street urchins had a paintball war against the banana van. I think the banana van lost that battle.
4. Graffiti
When co-stars Tad Eaton and Chris Morelli made the big decision to close up shop and move to Los Angeles; Courtney and Candy threw a par-tay like no other. When you mix tearful emotions, boxed wine, and spray paint cans... You get graffiti magical memories.

I said, "magical memories" not great artwork. They had a great time, as you can see.
What happened to the banana van? - you ask.
Well, the 4-wheels lived out its purpose and was towed away. Not sure if it was sold or auctioned or crushed into a cubed metal end table. Not sure what happened to the stuffed monkey, either.
One thing`s for sure - Candy and Courtney had a wonderful adventure in their banana van!
