Plot: A love story of an American soldier who stayed in Paris after WWII and fell in love with a French Ballerina.
Rehearsals for the production began in Paris. Candy Olsen, one of the auction stars of Storage Wars: New York, auditioned and secure her spot in the 27-member ensemble for the musical`s entire run. Here`s a photo of her spot on the Paybill.
I asked her about her experience in Paris, and here`s what she had to say:
Paris was epic in every way. We worked so many hours for many of the weeks we were there. And consequently as my friend at work put it, we took Paris by night! I wouldn`t say all nights, but many, since it felt like the time that we could truly see the city. Amazing! Fabulous restaurants, underground caves with live music, speakeasy bars and wine...:)) All of us also had friends and family visiting throughout our stay, and so many fun holidays and occasions to celebrate. There was never a dull moment!
Do you remember those orange-striped pants? She wore them on the A&E`s New York auction reality series. Vintage-lover even in Paris! After rehearsals in Europe; it was time to return to the Big Apple.
Here`s a photo of Candy`s first day on Broadway!
She is so excited, she can`t hide it! Oh, and speaking of vintage clothing... Look at this video by Playbill with Candy Olsen as she explained fashion in the 1940s.
Did I mention she was a part of the original cast recording for the Broadway album?
Apart from the show winning awards; the 27-member ensemble received the ninth annual ACCA Award for Outstanding Broadway Chorus from Actors` Equity Association; which is the only theater-industry accolade of its kind to honor the chorus of a Broadway musical. Way to go Candy!
Oh, you want to see the official trailer for the musical? Why didn`t you say so!
And so, now what is in store for Candy Olsen, the Flame from Storage Wars: New York? Well, let her put up her ballerina feet up for a while and exhale.
You made us proud, Candy. Now, we `toast` to your next adventure!
