If you attend live storage auctions, you acquaint yourself with the regulars who are professional storage auction buyers. However, if you buy auction units online, you are clueless to the identity of the other bidders. The Internet allows us a type of anonymity.

I reached out to one of iBid4Storage`s premier online buyers and asked if they would allow me to conduct a mini-interview.

I was not surprised that they (a couple) would like to keep their anonymity and to be referred to as Storage Warrior. You can visit their Canadian website online; however, on their About page, you`ll see a photo of their dog Eddy.

Reminds me of Tad Eaton & Chris Morelli from Storage Wars and their famous dog, Dottie Bingo.

Storage Warrior currently resides in British Columbia. They make a living by buying items at a low price and then flip that item for a good profit. They heard about iBid4Storage through an advertisement on Craigslist.

Online Storage Auction Buyer Interview

Q. How did you get into buying storage auction units?

A. We (Storage Warrior) loved Storage Wars and wondered if these auctions happened in our town. A quick Google search revealed they did, and there was an auction coming up on the weekend, so we went to check it out, with no intention to buy at all! Seriously. But there was something about that last locker of the day, and we snagged it at just over $200. It had a very large and mint condition collection of Royal Albert china in it, which we made a few hundred bucks from, and we were hooked.

Q. What has been your best locker to date?

A. It`s tough to say for sure but last summer we won a locker on iBid4Storage for $150 that was absolutely packed - so full you could barely open the door. It was jammed with tools, hardware and all kinds of great treasures, some of them brand new. We`ve already made almost $10,000 from that unit, and it keeps on giving.

Q. What made you decide to try online storage auctions?

A. Online seemed like a good way to buy because it gave more time to view the pictures and decide how high to bid. It was just another way to acquire lockers in a region that doesn`t have very many auctions compared to many other places.

Q. What advantages (not comparing to Live Auctions) did you discover in buying an auction unit online?

A. If the facility takes good pictures it`s nice to have a few days to really suss out a unit and get a good sense of the value inside.

Q. How can we improve your experience in buying lockers here at iBid4storage?

A. Fix your web site glitches! Guys, the site is painfully slow to navigate. Also if I`m looking at a list of auctions in BC and I click on one to view it, when I go back the list has reset itself to show all auctions and I have to filter it to just BC again. And over and over and over again. It`s so frustrating.
