Describe in one word the world`s top five biggest, baddest, bling-bling perfect 100-carat diamonds sold at auction.
Gasp!
Gawd!
Gargantuan!
Okay, so I always wanted to use that last word in a blog, just like in
Kill Bill 2.
Take a quick look at the photos.
I know, right. Bet you’re wondering - "What classifies a diamond as PERFECT?"
Gemological Institute of America (GIA) created the 4 C’s of diamonds.
Carat defined by unit of weight. The heavier the diamond, the more valuable and costly you will find at any auction.
Cut, in our minds, we define as the shape of a gemstone. Wrong. Cut dominates as the greatest single influence on the diamond`s brilliance, or sparkle.
Color refers to the absence of color. I know that doesn`t make a whole lot of sense. All of the 100-carat diamonds featured here classified as D (colorless). Think of the color of pure water. Now you got it!
Clarity refers to a diamond’s purity evaluated by view under 10X magnification. Virtually all diamonds contain tiny natural birthmarks that are present to varying degrees.

But not these wish-I-could-afford-one beauties, for their clarity equals flawless. Top five perfect diamonds show no inclusions or blemishes of any sort under magnification.
Type IIa diamonds don few inclusions (flaws inside the gemstone) with little to no measurable Nitrogen. Nor do they have Boron atoms, which make a stone appear blue or gray.
Less than 2% of the world`s diamonds are Type IIa.
Then there’s F and IF. Flawless diamond has the same clarity grade as an Internally Flawless diamond. The only difference is in the polishing of the facets.
Yes, it gets confusing.
What’s not perplexing; you must possess a mansion-load of money in the bank to bid and win one.
The common denominators among these sold-at-auction 100-carat jewels – they are all D-color, Flawless or Internally Flawless and Type IIa.
Extremely R-A-R-E.
Perfect jewels collectibles for Queens, Kings, Sheikhs or any of the 1% wealthy population.
Without any further ado, we present you - PERFECTION!
