The auction marketplace juggernaut upped their game, not only with the Seller Hub, but now with their NEW Valet Service.
No, they`re not going to park your car while you`re at a live storage auction; or while you shop at bins at the Goodwill Outlet Centers (shh, that`s a secret).
What eBay will, however, do is help you sell your merchandise.
WAIT A MINUTE...
That`s not new!
We`ve heard all about eBay Traders for

What`s changed?
Before, when you asked for the assistance from an eBay Trader, you had to "physically" get together with them to drop off all your
junk, I mean, your valuable storage auction unit merchandise.
Now, you can ship your items to an eBay Valet for FREE <-- did you read this... At
no cost to you!
But,
there`s a catch. You knew there was a "but" in there somewhere.
I decided to try this Valet service for myself. Here`s what you`ll see on the Valet page:
The scroll bar four announcements as follows:
- Find things to sell - Clothes. Electronics. Collectibles. Find items you no longer need to earn some easy cash.
- Ship it out for free - Mail us your items with our prepaid shipping label, or drop them off at an eBay Drop-off Center.
- Sit back and relax - Your work is done. Valets are experienced sellers and will do everything they can to sell your stuff on eBay.
- Get Paid. It`s that simple. - When your items sell, you`ll get up to 80% of the earnings. The more your things are worth, the more money you`ll make.
How true is it?
I found a few things around the house that were both pre-owned and in brand new condition: fitness equipment and clothing from American Express.
See the field where it reads: See how much your stuff could be worth? I typed in the field, "What do you want to sell?" the clothing I had and fitness equipment.
For the clothing, the message I received was "how" much the item could be worth and that the Valet`s do NOT sell items worth less than $25.

My recollection, an eBay trader would sell the farm if they could. As long as the item was in good condition, they would get a 15-25% commission off of the auction hammer down price.
Not so much with this new Valet service. They have
standards.
So, forget about selling your American Eagle, Abercrombie & Fitch, Gap, Roxy, Lucky Jeans, or anything not valued over $25. I have a Michael Kors jacket I bought years ago in pristine condition; retailed over $300. It`s not even worth $25 according to the Valet service.
Well, that burst my bubble.
I then put in that field other items I had for fitness equipment and the message I received:
Strike two! (Yes, it`s baseball season.)
Time to get creative. Make up stuff. I put in the field: Coach, Dolce & Gabbana, Sony Headphones, Samson Speakers, etc. I got a lot of "YASS!" Well, in my mind, but this is the message I got:
You can receive one of two types of eligibility notices. One with an estimated price, and another where the Valet will evaluate it for you.
What did I learn about this NEW Valet service offered by eBay auctions?
They will sell my
Treasures, but not my
junk.
Uh, I can do THAT!
Still, for the person who doesn`t have time or rather not go through the trouble; you do have an auction service Valet who will do the work for you...
As long as the item is worth more than $25.
