In 2010, A&E Network aired the first ever storage auction reality television series. The show centered around a handful of auction hunters and featured a married-couple, Dan and Laura Dotson, as the auctioneers.
Each episode, the buyer with the most money in their pocket (as the auction was a cash-only sale), won the contents of the deliquent locker. All first season`s auctions held in Southern California.
Cast:
Dave Hester had twenty-two years of experience in auctions as a hunter and auctioneer. At that time, he owned Rags to Riches store and Newport Consignment Gallery. His catch phrase became,
"Yuuup!"
Darrell Sheets had over thirty years of experience in the business of buying storage auction units. His catch phrase would become
"The Wow Factor."
Brandon Sheets learned the business through his father, Darrell.
Jarrod Schulz & Brandi Passante rookies who owned Now and Then thrift store.
Barry Weiss an antiques collector who was totally clueless to the business of storage auctions. He was good friends with the producer of the show, Tom Beers. Goes to show, it`s not what you know, it`s who you know!
"How much did they spend at auction?" - you ask. We broke it down for you, episode-by-episode.
