Could This Be The Last Season Of Storage Wars?

May 01, 2017
 Admit it.

We miss Barry Weiss who was THE most entertaining kernel that made the storage auction reality television show POP!

A&E Network production of Storage Wars aired it`s first, 10th season episode on April 12, 2017.

In a word - Confused!

We`re six episodes in and there`s a change up in the cast and in the cast member`s enthusiasm for buying storage auction units; except for Rene Nezhoda. He`s always giddy to make money.

New female auctioneer, Emily Wears, appeared in the first three episodes this season and in episode five.

She`s cute, sassy, and works without a partner. Emily, finished auction school at the age of seventeen, and is one of the youngest auctioneer in the business.

However, this Mid-Western sweetheart`s not a push-over. Storage Wars stars` over inflated egos did not intimidate her as she was quick to state on camera, "This ain`t my first rodeo." Wears also has a very fast auctioneer chant. Listen close. Listen fast. She does NOT give a first, second, third and final call. Emily sells storage auction units in a *snap* - that got the cast`s attention.

What`s up with the Dotsons?

When auctioneer Johan Graham and her father Earl appeared in four straight episodes back in season four, both the audience and cast members cried, "Foul!" Fans rumbled complaints on Twitter, and the Dotsons rumored (on tape) to unify a cast walk-off. After that rumor, Jo and her dad were out and the Dotsons back in place.

Hardly a tremor of complaints now from either fans or the Dotsons in their four episode leave of absence.

According to the Inquisitr, Dan`s fascinated by gold mining shows and is now hunting for gold in three location in California.

I can state for a fact that there are indeed gold mines that produce gold in Southern California, so it`s possible.

When the network brought in Ivy and Mary (lower paid cast members); Casey Nezhoda (Rene`s wife) inadvertently got the boot off the show, except during appraisal sessions with Rene.

Not a sign of Casey in the first six episodes of this season.

What happened last year?

Year In The Life In 2016

Dan & Laura Dotson - created their own online storage auction service and went to the 2016 ISS Expo in Vegas to promote it. Still active as LIVE auctioneers.

Dave Hester - worked as auctioneer according to his Twitter feed.

Darrell Sheets
- sold his warehouse and is semi-retired. He also lost about 100 pounds (not kidding). He quit soda and white foods and now has a new girl friend. Network offered "X" amount of money for him to say on show and he agreed. He`s really not into the storage auction unit business anymore. He stated in a TMZ interview that he dontates 90% of his profit to charity.

Brandon Sheets
- fired from the show this season due to budget cuts and is now a real estate broker in Arizona.

Brandi Passante & Jarrod Schulz - sold their thrift store, Now and Then. Jarrod focused on his clothing brand, "Outlaw Apparel."

Ivy Calvin
- tweeted in 2016 when his thrift shop, Grandma`s Attic, would be opened. That`s the gist of it.

Mary Padian
- according to her Twitter feed, she`s been here and there, but not an active storage auction buyer (not that she ever was, come on now).

Casey Nezhoda -
still helps run their thrift shop, The Bargain Hunters.

Rene Nezhoda
- appears to be the only true flip-for-profit auction buyer, not only in storage units, but also in estate sales.

In other words, we have a show were the storage auction buyers are no longer in the business of buying storage auction units.

If we revisit seasons 1-5, we can definitely say that the cast at that time were 100% all-in this business.

As time wore on, maybe the cast wore out.

Buying storage auction units and then selling the merchandise is a time consuming business.

Maybe it`s passé for the cast to buy storage auction units with the amount of money the veteran cast members make per episode, estimated over $30K.

Is it time to bring in a batch of new buyers, or has the show run its course.

You tell us.
