And Then There Were Five.
A&E Network first aired the storage auction based reality television series,
Storage Wars, on December 1, 2010.
Original Cast Members:
• Dan & Laura Dotson - Auctioneers
• Jarrod Schulz & Brandi Passante : "The Young Guns"
• Darrell Sheets: "The Gambler"
• Brandon Sheets: "The Sidekick"
• Dave Hester: "The Mogul"
• Barry Weiss: "The Collector"
Original cast consisted of eight members: two auctioneers and six storage auction unit buyers.
What happened between then (2010) and now (2017)?
Most beloved and everyone`s fan favorite, Barry Weiss, QUIT.
He left after season four. But that would not be the last we would see of Weiss. He starred in his own spin-off series,
Barry`d Treasure, which aired eight episodes.
Then in 2015, Barry starred in another spin-off,
Storage Wars: Barry Strikes Back, a behind-the-scenes commentary of past
Storage Wars episodes. With lack-luster ratings for both spin-offs, that was the last time we saw "The Collector".
Who else left the show?
Dave Hester was FIRED!
But no way was "The Mogul" leaving quietly in the night. He sued A&E Network and Original Productions for wrongful termination (and another thing that`s not relevant to this blog). A&E sued back. Smart move, Mogul.
However, in documents filed in July 11, 2014, Hester settled with A&E Network for an undisclosed amount and the terms were sealed - judgement satisfaction in full. Dave has since returned to the show.
Season 10 of the storage auction series will air in April.
